Yoke with “I AM”

Food for Thought:

Only when we Yoke with the "I Am," may we declare, "I will."

"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

(Matthew 11:29-30; NASB95)

God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' " (Exodus 3:14; NASB95)

"Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which

have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure';" (Isaiah 46:9–10; NASB95)

In yoking with Christ, we submit to His Will, which directly correlates with the Father's Will. We in submitting to the Father's ("I AM") Will, we assuredly declare, "I will" according to the

Father's Will. When we have access to and opportunity for submission to the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise God of the universe, why should we desire saying, "I will" to anything but His

will?

Perhaps you wonder what must you do to yoke yourself with Christ. First you must receive salvation. How does one receive salvation?

"And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and after he brought them out, he said, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' They said,

'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.' And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house." (Acts 16:29–32; NASB95)

Then ask the Lord to place His desires on your heart. Study the Bible diligently for His truth, rather than man's motive. Desires He places on your heart will always agree with biblical truths.

Seeking His will, asking Him to place His desires on my heart (Psalm 37:4-7), opens doors which previously appeared impossible to approach. His desires on my heart led to my entering seminary two years ago. His desires on my heart, led to my reentering competitive running. His desires on my heart led to my speaking to international audiences. His desires on my heart, through the suggestions of professors and fellow students, led to my considering a radio ministry. All of these serve to serve Christ and glorify the triune God in all that I do. This glorifying occurs because of Him and His goodness, mercy, sovereignty and provision.

"It is not me, rather Christ who is in me." "I can't, Christ can, We are."

How will submission or further submission change your life?
